What is soluble corn fiber on the ingredient list?Updated 2 years ago
- Soluble corn fiber, otherwise known as resistant maltodextrin (aka SCF or DRM), is a nondigestible fiber source made of up to 90% of fiber.
Resistant maltodextrin is considered a prebiotic dietary fiber — which means it passes through the stomach and small intestine undigested, to slowly ferment in the colon. Studies show that soluble corn fiber (like resistant maltodextrin) elicits a lower blood sugar response than other sweeteners and also helps with the feeling of satisfaction and fullness while eating.
